Crime Watch Report - April 2 to 8, 2016

Detective1) 2016-2669 On April 2nd, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 300 block of Meadowview Place in Parksville. The complainant advised that sometime during the early hours her unlocked vehicle was rummaged through and her purse was stolen. The purse was later found abandoned in the 100 block of Weld Street in Parksville.

2) 2016-2670 On April 2nd, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 1100 block of Resort Drive in Parksville. The complainant advised that culprits entered her unlocked vehicle and stole two watches, one was a 20 year service Fossil watch with ‘Fortis’ engraved on the band and the second was Guess watch with a black leather strap.

3) 2016-2690 On April 2nd, a mischief to property was reported to have occurred in the 500 block of Aspen Avenue in Qualicum Beach. The complainant advised that someone shot the front window of his residence with what he described as possibly a pellet gun. Only the first pane of glass was broken and the complainant was unable to locate any pellets.

4) 2016-2710 On April 3rd, a theft from residence was reported to have occurred in the 300 block of Craig Street in Parksville. The complainant advised that culprits entered her open carport and stole two pairs of ski boots, one was a child size and the second pair was an adult size pair of Atomic ski boots.

5) 2016-2731 On April 4th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 1300 block of Alberni Highway in Parksville. The complainant advised that her vehicle was rummaged through and several items stolen. A review of video surveillance showed that a Caucasian male between the ages of fifteen and twenty years entering the vehicle in the early hours and taking several items. This matter remains under investigation.

6) 2016-2746 On April 4th, a theft from a business was reported to have occurred in the 500 block of Lowry’s Road in Parksville. The complainant advised that during the early hours of April 2nd, a red Eagle air compressor, model P3120H1, serial number #EO15123 was stolen from a storage unit in the main parking lot.

7) 2016-2774 On April 5th, a theft was reported to have occurred in the 2400 block of Alberni Highway in Coombs. The complainant advised that upon returning from being away for a month he discovered his 9.9 hp Yamaha, extended leg, outboard motor missing off his boat. The housing is cracked and the motor has a homemade handle and attached control arms.

8) 2016-2809 On April 6th, a break, enter and theft was reported to have occurred at a residence in the 600 block of Doehle Avenue in Parksville. The complainant advised that she left her residence for only three hours during the daytime and returned to find her home ransacked. Aside from a number of items having been moved in the residence, assorted jewelry, war medals, several computerized devices and liquor were stolen. The point of entry into the residence was via a kitchen window and the culprits exited via a patio door.

9) 2016-2858 On April 8th, a theft from vehicle was reported to have occurred in the 1400 block of Alberni Highway in Parksville. The complainant advised that his company usually leaves three or four of their vehicles in the parking lot overnight and sometime in the early hours culprits pried open the rear container on one of the vehicles. Approximately $2000.00 worth of climbing gear was noted to have been stolen. The complainant will review his inventory to see if additional property is missing.

10) 2016-2868 On April 8th, a theft from business was reported to have occurred in the 1200 block of Franklins Gull Road in Parksville. The complainant advised that in the early hours culprits climbed over one of their perimeter fences allowing entry into an exterior compound. A number of items were stolen and the complainant is compiling a detailed list. There have been a number of thefts from this compound in recent months.
