Crime Watch Report - December 1 to 7, 2019

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 252 complaints.

 

1) File 2019-13058: Three propane tanks were reported stolen and a storage cage was reported damaged by a business in the 3700 block of Alberni Highway, Whisky Creek, on December 1st.  Video surveillance was provided to the RCMP.

2) File 2019-13067: A 32’ TV, clarinet, child’s backpack and a wallet containing cash were reported stolen in a residential break-and-enter to a residence in the 200 block of Corfield Street South, Parksville, on December 1st.

3) File 2019-13094: A wallet containing cash was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, on December 2nd.

4) File 2019-13107: A Stihl model 025 chain saw and a jerry can of gas were reported stolen from a property in the 1400 block of Pilot Way, Nanoose Bay, on December 2nd.

5) File 2019-13110: Change and an old hunting knife were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1500 block of Juan De Fuca Blvd, Parksville, on December 2nd.

6) File 2019-13113: A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 1100 block of Spider Lake Road, Qualicum Beach, on December 2nd.

7) File 2019-1319: A green and white 2009 TNG Venus scooter with a white carrier on the back was reported stolen from the 3300 block of Island Highway West, on December 2nd.

8) File 2019-13134: An 8 foot aluminum Feather lite step ladder was reported stolen from the 200 block of McVickers Street, Parksville, on December 3rd.

9) File 2019-13137: A white propane tank and a blue coloured air compressor were stolen from the 800 block of Sohier Road, Parksville, on December 3rd.

10) File 2019-13145: A jacket, gloves, and a toque were reported from a vehicle in the 100 block of Beachside Drive, Parksville, on December 3rd. There was no damage to the vehicle.

11) File 2019-13154: BC license plate JW3043 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 3300 block of Fyfe Road, Qualicum Beach on December 3rd.

12) File 2019-13156: Credit cards were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Hirst Avenue West, Parksville, on December 3rd.

13) File 2019-13165: RCMP recovered a child’s red Norco “Bush Pilot” mountain bike in the 100 block of Ash Crescent, Parksville, on December 4th, while investigating a theft from a motor vehicle.

14) File 2019-13172: A vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 500 block of Wheeler Ave, Parksville, on December 4th. Nothing was taken and there was no vehicle damage.

15) File 2019-13186: Insurance papers and a garage door opener was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 700 block of Lilac Dr, Parksville, on December 4th. The garage door was found open but nothing reported stolen.

16) File 2019-13193: A blue Next Laser mountain bike was recovered by RCMP in the 300 block of Wembley Rd, Parksville, on December 4th.  Contact the Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

17) File 2019-13230: RCMP recovered a 46” Sharp Aquos TV in a shopping cart in the 700 block of Jones Street, Qualicum Beach, on December 5th. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

18) File 2019-13247: Projector laser Christmas lights were reported stolen from the 800 block of Retegno Ave, Parksville, on December 6th.

19) File 2019-13250: Change and sunglasses were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 700 block of Bradbury Ave, Parksville, on December 6th.

20) File 2019-13254: Mailboxes were breached in the 1100 block of Smithers Rd, Parksville, on December 6th.

21) File 2019-13281: A Husqvarna 346XP chain saw was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 700 block of Camas Way, Parksville, on December 7th.  A child’s 10” LCD writing tablet was left behind by the thief.

22) File 2019-13283: A large amount of cash was withdrawn from a resident’s bank account after divulging their bank account and PIN upon receiving a text purporting to be from the bank. Never give your PIN even to a bank employee.

23) File 2019-13285: Two vehicles were rummaged through and change reported stolen in the 600 block of Rushton Ave, Parksville, on December 7th.

24) File 2019-13288: RCMP received a chainsaw, reciprocating saw and ladder found abandoned in the 1300 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, on December 7th. Contact the Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

25) File 2019-13404: A string of Christmas lights were cut in the 100 block of Finholm Street North, Parksville, on December 7th
