Crime Watch Report - May 12 to 18, 2019

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 277 complaints.

1)File 2019-4718: On May 12th a business owner in the 500 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville, reported that someone had damaged a glass door and lock.

2) File 2019-4724: In the 400 block of Wheeler Avenue, Parksville, a vehicle was entered overnight as reported on May 12th. There was no evidence of forced entry nor was anything reported missing.

3) File 2019-4769: A fitness tracker and garage door opener was reported stolen from a vehicle on May 13th in the 500 block of Ackerman Road, French Creek.

4) File 2019-4781: RCMP responded to a business alarm in the 900 block of Churchill Road, Parksville, on May 14th. The business reported theft of computer and the attempted removal of a safe.

5) File 2019-4808: The theft of a master lock from a mailbox near Boorman Road, Qualicum Beach, was reported on May 14th.  Residents reminded to remove mail on a daily basis.

6) File 2019-4817: On May 14th, a phone cord and a GPS cord were stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Harnish Avenue, Parksville. There was no sign of damage or forced entry.

7) File 2019-4840: Reported on May 15th that pepper spray and change was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of Forsyth Avenue, Parksville.

8) File 2019-4841: A wallet containing a credit card and a bank card was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of Blenkin Avenue, Parksville, on May 15th. The stolen cards were used in Parkville before the theft was discovered.

9) File 2019-4843: A community mailbox in the 600 block of Turner Road, Parksville, was reported breeched on May 15th.

10) File 2019-4844: A bank card and two cordless drills were reported stolen on May 15th, from an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of Forsyth Avenue, Parksville. The bank card was used for a purchase in Parksville before the theft was discovered.

11) 2019-4845: A small amount of change was reported taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 1100 block of Roberton Blvd, Parksville, on May 15th.

12) 2019-4848: A male tried to unsuccessfully enter a locked vehicle in the 500 block of Sandlewood Drive, Parksville, on May 15th.  Nothing was damaged and nothing was stolen.

13) File 2019-4849: A hover board and cash were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of Ermineskin Avenue, Parksville, on May 15th.

14) File 2019-4850: A pen knife was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of Banks Avenue East, Parksville, on May 15th.

14) File 2019-4855: On May 15th there was a report of damage to the new rubber matting on the playground of the Parksville Community Park.

15) File 2019-4857: A complaint was received on May 15th that an unlocked vehicle was rummaged through in the 400 block of Wheeler Avenue, Parksville. Nothing was reported stolen.

16) File 2019-4865: A Stihl MS461 chainsaw, serial 182196765, was reported stolen from a commercial space in the 1200 block of Coldwater Road, Parksville, on May 15th.

17) File 2019-4875: An unknown male entered an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Forsyth Avenue, Parksville, on May 15th. Nothing of value was reported missing.

18) File 2019-4880: RCMP on patrol noticed a vehicle in the 600 block of Morrison Avenue, Parksville, with its interior light on May 16th. The awakened owner reported that a pair of Rayban sunglasses were taken from the unlocked vehicle.

19) File 2019-4881: On May 16th the RCMP received a report of a break and enter of a business in the 100 block of Craig Street, Parksville. Entry was made by damaging the front door and “Mystical Wands” valued at $2,600 were reported stolen.

20) File 2019-4885: Two unlocked vehicles were reported entered in the 1300 block of Gilley Crescent, Parksville, on May 16th. Only a small amount of change was reported missing.

21) File 2019-4905: A business owner in the 300 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, reported on May 16th, of burn marks on the back door caused by two people cooking drugs. The business handed over video surveillance of the incident to the RCMP.

22) File 2019-4919: On May 17th an unlocked vehicle was rummaged through in the 700 block of Soriel Drive, Parksville. A pair of sunglasses were reported stolen.

23) File 2019-4920: A pair of earbuds were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 800 block of Glenhale Crescent, Parksville, on May 17th.

24) File 2019-4921: An unlocked vehicle in the 900 block of Glenhale Crescent, Parksville, was rummaged through on May 17th. Nothing was reported taken nor any damage recorded.

25) File 2019-4923: A Polaris camera valued at $90 was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of Gaetjen Street, Parksville, on May 17th.

26) File 2019-4924: An old iPod Shuffle and spare change was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Belson Street, Parksville, on May 17th.

27) File 2019-4928: Oceanside RCMP received a complaint on May 17th from a business owner in the 100 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, of three males doing drugs in the rear parking lot. RCMP arrived and were able to locate only one of the subjects who was removed from the site.

28) File 2019-4946: An unlocked vehicle in the 700 block of Soriel Road, Parksville, was reported rummaged through on May 17th.

29) File 2019-4979: An unlocked vehicle was reported rummaged through in the 600 block of Gaetjen Street, Parksville, on May 18th. Nothing was reported stolen.
