Crime Watch Report - November 8 to 14, 2021

During this time period the Oceanside RCMP received 237 complaints. 

1) File 2021-11834:  A fire in a garbage can and another in a concrete garbage bin was reported in the 200 block of Island Highway East, Parksville, on November 8. No reported damage to buildings.

2) File 2021-11836: A 2000 white Dodge Dakota, BC plate NV9174, was reported stolen in the 200 block of Island Highway West, Parksville, on November 8.  This vehicle has not been recovered and is still outstanding.

3) File 2021-11836: A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 200 block of Island Highway West, on November 8.  Noted stolen were a black/grey Santa Cruz Z10 mountain bike, Jet wrenches and assorted tools.

4) File 2021-11837: Two pairs of RX sunglasses, registration papers and change were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of McCarter Street, Parksville, on November 8.

5) File 2021-11843: Recycling items were reported stolen from a shed in the 2600 block of Powder Point Road, Nanoose Bay, on November 8.

6) File 2021-11847: BC plate JE938C was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Morison Avenue, Parksville, on November 8.

7) File 2021-11866: Nighttime prowlers were reported in the 1300 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, on November 8.

8) File 2021-11873: A purse containing a wallet was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Craig Street, Parksville, on November 9.

9) File 2021-11874: Graffiti was reported sprayed on a building in the 100 block of Beachside Drive, Parksville, on November 9.

10) File 2021-11878: A fuel can and diesel reported stolen in the 1200 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, on November 9.

11) File 2021-11897: A fire was reported set in a bus shelter in the 100 block of Jensen Avenue West, Parksville., on November 10. Parksville Fire Department responded.

12) File 2021-11898: A backpack was reported set on fire in 100 block of Morison Avenue, Parksville, on November 10. No damage noted to nearby buildings.

13) File 2021-11905: An iPhone 11 with a purple case and floating glitter was reported stolen in the 3500 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, on November 10.

14) File 2021-11908: Two electric batteries for an E-bike were reported stolen after a delivery in the 200 block of Buller Road, Qualicum Beach, on November 10.

15) File 2021-11944: A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 100 block of Horne Lake Road, Qualicum Beach, on November 11.  One person was arrested.

16) File 2021-11948: Money was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 400 block of Warder Crescent, Qualicum Beach, on November 11.

17) File 2021-11955: A trailer tire was reported vandalized in the 100 block of Moilliet Street South. Parksville, on November 11.

18) File 2021-11959: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 6900 block of Island Highway, Bowser, on November 12. A male and female were arrested.

19) File 2021-11963: A business break-and-enter was reported in the 1000 block of Herring Gull Way, Parksville, on November 12. A male was arrested.

20) File 2021-11964: A night time prowler was reported in the 1400 block of Cimarron Court, Parksville, on November 12.  A male was arrested.

21) File 2021-11965: Tools were reported stolen from a construction site in the 200 block of Buller Road, Qualicum Breach, on November 12. The lock to a steel storage container was recorded.

22) File 2021-11969: A local resident was reported scammed out of thousands of dollars responding to a fraud call alleged to be from Canada Border Security Agency asking for payment in crypto-currency, on November 12.

23) File 2021-11975: BC plate NL2616 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1000 block of Lee Road, Parksville, on November 12.

24) File 2021-11983: BC plate HF508S was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 2700 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach, on November 12.

25) File 2021-12015: A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 900 block of Fairdowne Road, Parksville, on November 13.
