Five combination Speed Watch and Cell Watch deployments were made by Oceanside Community Safety's Traffic Watch during the months of January and February, 2019. All of these deployments were conducted in school zones.
Of 1475 vehicles checked, 118 or 8% were traveling at more than 10 km/h over the posted speed limit with the highest deviation being 66 km/h in a 30 km/h zone. 8 drivers were observed doing some form of distracted driving.
